Leather Work
My leather work has always been a hobby which somewhat payed for itself. My present style of carving has continued to evolve into a blend of the Sheridan and the North West style with a bunch of me thrown in for good measure.
Today, my carving is unique in that most of my work is hand drawn by me. I don’t copy others work, although if I see something that catches my eye, I may play with it and sometimes incorporate into one of my designs. Solomon once stated that there is nothing new under the sun, and in a sense that applies to artisans who craft leather and for that matter any other art form. When I create a belt, wallet or saddle, they are never exactly the same. They may appear similar, but they are never identical as my craft continues to evolve.
None of the pieces I produce are machine stamped or embossed like the inferior leather articles you would purchase from a big box store. I select, cut and shape the leather, then design, carve and stamp, bringing each piece to life.
