A properly fitted saddle is crucial for your horse’s comfort, health, and performance. Kent Cannon Saddlery offers a Custom Saddle Fitting Service utilizing the renowned Dennis Lane System—a scientifically designed method for achieving a precise, personalized fit for every horse and rider.

Service Details & Pricing

Our fitting service is available at our shop for $300.00. For remote locations within 80 miles and a maximum four-hour round trip, the charge is $45 per hour round trip plus mileage, in addition to the $300 fitting fee.

If your location exceeds these travel limits, you have two options:

·      We can ship you the Dennis Lane System cards with explicit instructions and return postage for self-measurement.

·      Or, you may pay for our travel time and accommodations plus the fitting fee.

Additional horses will be charged at $200 per head.

The Dennis Lane System uses a series of templates to accurately capture the contours and width of the withers, shoulders, and back, ensuring the saddle conforms precisely to your horse’s unique shape, and eliminating guesswork for a truly personalized fit.

3.        Dennis Lane Template Measurement: Using the Dennis Lane System, we take precise measurements at key points along your horse’s back for accuracy and repeatability.

4.        Saddle Assessment: We examine your current saddle (if applicable) to determine how it sits on your horse and whether it matches the template profile.

5.        Custom Recommendations: Based on the measurements and assessment, we provide recommendations for custom saddle adjustments, modifications, or new saddles to best suit your horse’s needs.

6.        Follow-Up Support: After fitting, we offer ongoing support and re-checks to ensure your horse remains comfortable as its shape changes with age, training, and conditioning.
